The friend’s husband turned out to be the accused
Vengurle (Correspondent)- Sayali Yashwant Gawade (20) of Math Kankewadi went missing on August 27. In this regard, a complaint about her disappearance was lodged at Vengurla police station on 28th. Sayali’s body was found in a garden in Adelie on Sunday night with injuries on the back of the head, injuries on the face and a black sore around the neck.
According to the information provided by Rajan Narvekar, the police immediately reached the spot at half past eleven. The police investigation revealed that the deceased Sayali was killed by strangulation with the help of her own clothes and hit on her nose and mouth. In this regard, the police have registered a case under section 302 of the IPC against Govind alias Vaibhav Daji Madhav (resident of Parule, age 30), the husband of Sayali’s friend.
Three others have been detained for questioning in this case. Further investigation of this case is being conducted by the Investigation Branch team under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Rajendra Dabhade, Upper Superintendent of Police Nitin Bagate, Sub Divisional Police Officer Rohini Solanke, Vengurle Police Inspector Atul Jadhav, Oros Police Inspector Sandeep Bhosle, Assistant Police Inspector Mahesh Ghag.
