Karnataka: Man orders iphone, kills the flipkart delivery boy while receiving it so he doesn’t have to pay money. The incident took place in Hassan district, after unboxing.
Well, well, well. It seems that even online shopping isn’t safe these days! In a shocking incident that took place in Karnataka, a 20-year-old man allegedly killed a Flipkart delivery agent who had come to deliver his brand-new iPhone. And what was the reason for this heinous crime, you may ask? Unboxing!
Yes, you heard it right. The accused, Hemant Datta, and the victim, Manju Naik, got into an argument over the payment and unboxing of the mobile phone. And things escalated quickly, with Datta allegedly stabbing Naik with a knife. Can you imagine that? Over a silly phone unboxing!
But it doesn’t stop there. After killing the poor delivery agent, Datta went on to hide the body in a gunny bag. And if that wasn’t enough, he threw the bag on a nearby railway track and later burnt the body with petrol. Talk about going to great lengths to cover up a crime!
Of course, the police didn’t take too kindly to this. When Naik’s brother lodged a missing complaint, the authorities sprung into action and managed to track down the accused. Datta was arrested and remanded in judicial custody, and a detailed investigation is currently underway.
Now, I don’t know about you, but this whole situation just seems ridiculous to me. I mean, yes, getting a brand-new iPhone is exciting, but is it really worth taking someone’s life over? And to go to such extreme measures to cover up the crime? It’s almost comical, in a dark and twisted sort of way.
All joking aside, though, this is a tragic incident, and my heart goes out to the family and friends of Manju Naik. Let’s hope that justice is served and that nothing like this ever happens again. And to all you online shoppers out there, please remember to be kind to your delivery agents. After all, they’re just doing their job!
